Radamel Falcao García Zárate (born ), known as Radamel Falcao or El Tigre, is a Colombian professional footballer who plays as a striker. He is widely regarded as one of the best Colombian strikers of all time.
Falcao is known for his clinical finishing, aerial ability, and goal-scoring instinct. He won the UEFA Europa League twice (with Porto and Atlético Madrid) and is the all-time top scorer in Europa League history. His nickname El Tigre (The Tiger) reflects his fierce playing style.
Early life
Radamel Falcao García Zárate was born on February 10, 1986, in Santa Marta, Colombia. He began his football career at Lanceros Boyacá before moving to River Plate in Argentina, where he developed into one of South America's most promising strikers.
Career
Falcao's career took off at Porto (2009–2011), where he scored 72 goals in 87 matches and won the Europa League. He then moved to Atlético Madrid (2011–2013), scoring 70 goals in 91 games, winning another Europa League and the Copa del Rey. His €60 million transfer to Monaco in 2013 made him one of the most expensive players. He later played for Manchester United, Chelsea, Galatasaray, and Rayo Vallecano.
For the Colombian national team, Falcao is one of the all-time top scorers. He represented Colombia in the 2018 FIFA World Cup and multiple Copa América tournaments.
