Pomber (born Cartagena, Bolívar, Colombia; real name Emanuel Bravo García) is a Colombian gamer, streamer and digital content creator, recognized primarily for his content around Free Fire and competitive gaming. Born in Cartagena de Indias and raised in Antioquia, he went from a teenage gamer who found refuge in videogames during a period marked by bullying to a professional creator and a competitive Free Fire personality.

Today Pomber dedicates approximately five to six hours a day to livestreaming, while also editing his own videos and publishing content on platforms such as TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and Kick. His story — from a childhood marked by bullying due to his weight to building a solid community around competitive gaming — has received recent coverage from Colombian and international digital media, including El Tiempo, Caracol Radio, El Heraldo, Edomex Al Día and Sureste Informa.

Early life

Emanuel Bravo García was born in Cartagena, department of Bolívar, Colombia, and grew up in a humble and close-knit family in Antioquia, where he was raised. From childhood, his highly energetic personality led his family to look for different activities in which he could channel his energy: he practiced several sports, including football, swimming, tennis and volleyball.

During adolescence, Emanuel went through a difficult period marked by bullying related to his weight. He reached more than 110 kilograms and gradually found refuge at home, where videogames became an important form of entertainment and a space in which he felt comfortable.

He initially played different shooting and strategy titles, and later discovered games such as League of Legends before becoming particularly interested in Free Fire, the battle royale game by Garena that would become the center of his career.

Career

Beginnings of livestreaming

At the end of 2019, while studying Industrial Engineering and Systems Engineering, Emanuel began livestreaming. What started as a hobby gradually gained momentum during the COVID-19 pandemic, when virtual education gave him more time to experiment with livestreaming, particularly on Facebook.

The Pomber brand

As his audience began to grow, he decided to create a distinctive identity for his content. That was when the name Pomber emerged. The nickname, which initially began almost as a game, eventually became his personal brand and the identity under which he competes, streams, creates videos and interacts with his community.

Free Fire and competitive gaming

Today Pomber is primarily associated with Free Fire, where he has developed a profile as a competitive player and gaming creator. His content includes livestreams, competitive matches, challenges, community games, conversations, prizes, entertainment and short-form videos for social networks. He currently dedicates approximately five to six hours a day to livestreaming, while also editing his own videos and publishing content across his platforms.

Setback and rebound

One of the most significant setbacks in his career came when a Facebook page he had built was hacked, causing him to lose a substantial part of his community and forcing him to start again. He subsequently focused on TikTok and rebuilt his audience, demonstrating the consistency that has characterized his career.

His first earnings from digital content were largely reinvested into improving his production equipment. He has stated that his current computer is valued at approximately US$10,000–15,000, reflecting the importance he places on technology and production quality.

Entrepreneurial vision

Beyond gaming, Pomber sees content creation as a long-term entrepreneurial project. His goals include building financial stability, helping his family, owning his own home and vehicle, and eventually reaching a point where his income does not depend exclusively on spending several hours each day in front of a camera.

Personal life and future plans

Despite his success online, Emanuel maintains an interest in completing his studies and developing an alternative professional path should content creation cease to be sustainable. Nevertheless, he has indicated that he would continue creating content, because gaming and digital creation have become an important part of his identity.
