Emil Farhat (1914–2000) was a Brazilian writer, journalist, and marketing professional. He won the 1988 Prêmio Jabuti for his novel Dinheiro na Estrada. He was head of McCann Erickson Brazil.

Emil Farhat (1914–2000) was a Brazilian writer, journalist and marketing professional. He was born in Maripá de Minas to a family of Arab immigrant origin. He worked as a journalist and later became the head of the Brazilian branch of the American ad firm McCann Erickson.

As a writer, he won the prestigious 1988 Prêmio Jabuti for his epistolary novel Dinheiro na Estrada, which recounted the immigrant experience of his Lebanese ancestors.

Journalism and Marketing Career

Farhat built a successful career in journalism and marketing. He rose to become the head of the Brazilian branch of McCann Erickson, one of the world's largest advertising agencies.
