Sofía Vergara (born ) is a Colombian-American actress and television personality. She has received five nominations each at the Primetime Emmy Awards and the Golden Globe Awards.
Born in Barranquilla, Atlántico, Colombia, Vergara initially studied dentistry at National University of Colombia before pursuing modeling and show business. She emigrated to the United States in 1998, settling in Miami, Florida.
Vergara is best known for her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on the ABC sitcom Modern Family (2009–2020). She was the highest-earning woman in U.S. television and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2015.
