Julio Flórez Roa (1867–1923) was a Colombian poet and musician.

Career

He published several books of poetry, was a founding member of a tertulia called the Gruta Simbólica, and shortly before his death was named National Poet of Colombia.

Flórez's best-known poem "Flores negras", for which he also composed music, was influential in its sentimental style.
