Biography
Ana Isabel Gómez Ana Isabel Gómez Córdoba (born c. 1956) is a Colombian physician and surgeon, lawyer, academic, and scientist who has served as Rector of the Universidad del Rosario since October 24, 2024. She is the first woman to hold this position. Born in Bogotá, D.C., Gómez holds a medical degree from the Universidad del Rosario. She has a distinguished academic career at the Universidad del Rosario, having held various roles, most notably in the Faculty of Law and the School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She has played a fundamental role in the modernization of healthcare systems in Colombia, leading the design and implementation of care processes at the Colsubsidio Family Compensation Fund. In 2024, she was elected Rector of the Universidad del Rosario, becoming the first woman in its history.
